NADCAP Certified Passivation – Nitric and Citric
Now Nadcap certified for nitric and citric passivation of stainless steel.
Passivation is an immersion process designed to enhance the corrosion protection of stainless steel. Trace iron or free iron left behind from grinding and machining operations, as well as exposed sulfur compounds, inherent in the alloy itself can cause a premature failure of the stainless steel when in the field. Through an immersion process the free iron and sulfur compounds are removed without damaging the base alloy basically allowing the stainless steel to be “stainless”.
